37th edition of National Games begins in Goa – The 37th edition of the National Games will start on 26 October 2023, Thursday in Goa. It will be formally inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The National Games are India’s homespun Olympic-style multi-sport event where athletes from the various states and Union Territories participate in the event to compete for medals.
In the initial stage, national games of Badminton, Artistic Gymnastics, and Netball were held. The gold medal in Mixed Doubles Badminton was won by Gouse Shaik and Pooja D of Andhra Pradesh, while the Gold Medal in Men’s Singles was received by Tharun Manepalli of Telangana. The gold medal in Men’s doubles was triumphed by Karnataka’s players.
