Afghanistan Day, also known as Nowruz is celebrated on March 21 every year with great enthusiasm. The day commemorates the beginning of spring and also the Afghan New Year. On this day, Farvardin, or the first month in the Solar Hijri calendar begins and is usually held on March 20 or 21.
History
Nowruz celebrations take place in the Zoroastrian tradition in many countries such as Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Iran, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan. Nowruz. The meaning of Nowruz is “new day” in Persian, marking the start of spring and the new year in Afghanistan.
