On 17th December 2020, The Indian Capital has detected An earthquake of magnitude 4.2 scales. As per the report of the National Centre for Seismology, The epicentre of the quake was found Alwar, Rajasthan.
- Moreover, the region is facing many minor quakes in the past some months. however, the scientists are saying that there is no unusual seismic activity near Delhi.
- The Earth Sciences Minister Harsh Vardhan also stated that in the last two decades, earthquakes are not defining pattern in the frequency of the quakes near Delhi.
- The earthquakes Detection is dependent on installed seismic recorders in the region. in the country, 115 detectors are installed and in which 16 detectors are in or around Delhi.
