The CalFlowers Scholarship is a merit-based program and is offered to undergraduate students planning a career in floriculture. It is available for students who are California residents, studying at an accredited institution within the state and outside, with a preference for the former.
The program ranges from $500 – $5,000. The funds will be issued jointly as checks in the name of the recipient and the college or institution being attended in the fall. Selected Students will be sent a notification by July 1 of each year.

Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the scholarships you must.
- Be pursuing a career in or related to FLORICULTURE or HORTICULTURE.
- Must be a CITIZEN OR RESIDENT OF THE U.S. OR CANADA or be enrolled in an accredited educational institution in the U.S. or Canada.
- Must have a minimum 2.0 grade point average.

- Two letters of recommendation – Preferably one from a teacher and one from an employer. Please do not submit more than two letters of recommendation. You will upload recommendations to your online application as a PDF. Letter of Recommendation uploaded or requested will be applied to all scholarships selected.
- Transcripts – Upload transcripts to your online application as a PDF.
Selection Process
Students will be selected based on their past academic record and experience through transcripts, recommendation letters, and résumé. Students need to show their interest in pursuing floriculture as well.
