3rd edition of Coastal Defence Exercise ‘Sea Vigil -22’ begins on November 15

The Indian Navy began the largest nationwide and the third edition of Coastal Defense Exercise Sea Vigil-22 on November 15, 2022. Indian Navy is conducting this exercise in coordination with the Coast Guard and other ministries entrusted with the task of maritime activities. This is the 3rd edition of the ‘Pan-India’ Coastal Defence Exercise ‘Sea Vigil-22’ and will be held over two days. The 2nd edition of Sea Vigil was held in January 2021.

Pan-India Coastal Defence Exercise ‘Sea Vigil-22′

  • In 2018, The national-level coastal defence exercise was formed to validate various measures that have been instituted towards enhancing maritime security since ‘26/11’.
  • The exercise is held along the entire 7516 km coastline and the Exclusive Economic Zone of India.
  • all the coastal states and union territories along with other maritime stakeholders, including the fishing and coastal communities participate in this exercise.

Exercise Sea Vigil-22: Purpose

  • Exercise Sea Vigil-22 aims to enhance our strengths and weaknesses and strengthen maritime and national security.
  • Moreover, The two exercises named Sea Vigil and TROPEX, will together include the spectrum of maritime security challenges.

India-US joint military exercise ‘Yudh Abhyas’ starts on November 16

The 18th edition of the India-US joint training exercise “Yudh Abhyas 22″ will be held in Uttarakhand from November 16th, 2022 between India and the USA. “Yudh Abhyas 22″ aims to exchange best practices, tactics, techniques, and procedures between the armies of the two countries. The 17th edition of the Indo – US joint training exercise “YUDH ABHYAS 21” was held in Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson, Alaska (USA) in October 2021.

  • US Army soldiers from the 2nd Brigade of the 11th Airborne Division and Indian Army soldiers from the ASSAM Regiment will become part of this exercise.
  • The exercise aims to share their broad experiences and enhance techniques through information exchange.

Green Mobility Introduced by IAF

IAF has inducted a fleet of Tata Nexon Electric Vehicles to achieve a reduction in carbon footprint and in keeping with Gol’s initiative on the introduction of green mobility. on 15 November 2022, A flag-off ceremony was held at Air Force Headquarters, Vayu Bhawan. Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari, Chief of the Air Staff flagged off the first batch of 12 electric vehicles.

  • Indian Air Force will enhance the usage of electric vehicles in a progressive manner by procuring e-vehicles against downgraded conventional vehicles.
  • The first batch of electric cars introduced is all set to deploy in Delhi NCR units for performance monitoring and analysis.

53rd Edition of International Film Festival of India to be hosted in Goa from November 20 to 28, 2022

The 53rd edition of the International Film Festival of India, IFFI will be hosted by Goa between November 20 and 28, 2022. The 53rd International Film Festival of India, IFFI will bring the biggest stalwarts under one roof cumulating the cohesive energy and spirit of art, films, and culture. in 2022, 280 films from 79 countries and 25 feature films and 20 non-feature films from India in the ‘Indian Panorama’ will be screened.

  • Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement award will be presented to Spanish film director Carlos Saura
  • France is the ‘Spotlight’ country and 8 films will be screened under the Country Focus package
  • The Austrian film, Alma and Oskar which has been directed by Dieter Berner, will open the annual festival and Krzysztof Zanussi’s Perfect Number will be the closing film
  • Caravans will be deployed throughout Goa and movies will be screened
  • Films from NFAI will also be showcased in the ‘Indian Restored Classics’ section
  • Three films of 2022’s Dadasaheb Phalke awardee –Teesri Manzil, Do Badan and Kati Patang will also be screened as part of the Asha Parekh retrospective
  • The ‘Homage’ section will have 15 Indian and 5 international films
  • To promote films from North-East India, 5 feature and 5 non-feature films, will be included as the golden jubilee of Manipuri cinema
  • Special attractions include Shigmotsav (Spring Festival) on 26th November 2022 and Goa Carnival on 27th November 2022
