37th edition of National Games begins in Goa
The 37th edition of the National Games will start on 26 October 2023, Thursday in Goa. It will be formally inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 75% of beneficiaries of PM SVANidhi scheme come from non-general category with OBCs accounting for 44%, says SBI report
As per the SBI research report, the Indian govt’s micro-credit PM SVANidhi scheme for street vendors ensures inclusive entrepreneurship. The report shows nearly 75 percent of its beneficiaries come from the non-general category with the OBCs accounting for 44 percent. The Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes account for 22% of the total disbursement of the PM Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) scheme and 43% of the total beneficiaries are women.
Amit Shah inaugurates Country’s first Nano DAP plant in Gandhinagar
Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the Country’s first Nano DAP plant by IFFCO near Kalol in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. It will help to adopt natural farming and reduce the use of fertilizers in agriculture without compromising the scale of the production. The solid DAP and Urea, the liquid nano DAP will not affect the nutrients in the soil and will contain zero harmful metal particles, Amit Shah said.

Jina Mahsa Amini wins EU’s Sakharov Prize
The European Union parliament presented its annual Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought to Iranian woman Mahsa Amini who died in police custody in 2022 and the “Woman, Life, Freedom” movement in Iran. EU’s Sakharov Prize carries a €50,000 (£43,500; $53,000) endowment. The award will be presented in a European Parliament ceremony in December 2023.
