Diversity Advancement Scholarship is offered to help build a pipeline of architects so that the profession better reflects the diverse communities they serve. It includes an award up to $20,000. Scholarships may be renewed for up to 5 years (up to a $20,000 total award).

Eligibility Criteria
Follow the requirements for applying for the Program:
- Must be a US citizen or permanent resident.
- Must be a high school student planning to enroll in a NAAB-accredited architecture degree program;
- Must be a rising second-year college student in a NAAB-accredited architecture degree program; or,
- Must be a technical school or community college student who has completed high school or its equivalent and intends to transfer to an NAAB-accredited architecture program.

Application Process
Applicants must submit:
- A comprehensive essay that tells us how you see the potential of architecture to improve communities and how this influences your passion for becoming an architect. Be sure to include examples of your current involvement or past experiences and how you see the possibilities for shaping your path forward in service to society through architecture. (1,200 words)
- A professional resume
- Two letters of recommendation
- A portfolio (3-5 creative works, do not have to be architecture-specific)

Selection Process
Applicants will be considered on their abilities, originality, commitment to excellence, and community service activity. They must be model students and be involved in their communities.
