Eamon Molloy Memorial Scholarship is awarded by the University of Canterbury, New Zealand to support undergraduate Asian students who want to study in New Zealand. The citizens of Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Pakistan, the People’s Republic of China, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Timor-Leste, or Vietnam; or holders of Hong Kong permanent identity cards can apply for this program.
- An award amount of up to NZD 15,000 for a year of study will be offered under the program.
- The award is for full-time Asian students at the University of Canterbury.
- The award amount will help in offering assistance against the tuition fees and compulsory charges.
- The scholarship application deadline is February 28.
- Only one Eamon Molloy Memorial Scholarship will be available every year.

Applicants will have to fulfil the eligibility requirements for the Eamon Molloy Memorial Scholarship,
Applicants must be either:
- Citizens of Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Pakistan, the People’s Republic of China, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Timor-Leste, or Vietnam; or
- holders of Hong Kong permanent identity cards.
Applicants must not be citizens of Aotearoa New Zealand or holders of Aotearoa New Zealand residence class visas.

Eamon Molloy Memorial Scholarship 2024 – Selection process
- One scholarship will be given annually.
The scholarship will awarded by Te Kaunihera | Council of the University on the recommendation of a selection committee comprising:
- Tumu Whakarae | Vice-Chancellor (or nominee);
- Representative of the Molloy family; and
- Two representatives of the donors: one representing Dr. Ngau Boon Keat, and one representing the other donors.

The selection committee will review:
- Academic achievement;
- Financial and personal hardship; and
- Leadership and personal qualities indicate the potential to be a success in life.
