The Iowa Environmental Health Association offers an annual educational scholarship for $500. $500 for the school year; the scholarship can be renewed one time if the applicant is in good academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher) with their respective college or university.
Scholarship winners will be announced in March and will be recognized during the IEHA business meeting which is held during The Governor’s Conference on Public Health each April. The scholarship recipient will also be given a certificate and a one-year IEHA membership

Eligibility Criteria
Follow the requirements for applying for the Program:
- Must be a resident of the State of Iowa
- Must be a high school senior OR non-traditional student returning to college in the State of Iowa
- Must be a full-time student at any college, university, or community college in the State of Iowa
- Must be in an Environmental Health major or related field

Application Process
To apply for the program, you will have to submit your application.
- Complete the scholarship application and mail it to the address listed at the bottom of the application.
- Three (3) letters of recommendation from three (3) individuals (teachers, high school guidance counselors, employers, minister, etc).
- Have an official high school transcript.
- The essay should be approximately 250 words (one typed page, font size 11 or 12) explaining your career plans and goals.

Selection Process
Candidate’s applications will be evaluated based on academic excellence, well-prepared recommendation letters, and an essay. Essays will be reviewed by grammatical accuracy, originality, and relativity to the topic given.
