India’s unemployment rate drops to 7.6% in March from 8.1% in Feb 2022 – The overall unemployment rate in India has dropped from 8.10% (February 2022) to 7.6% (March 2022), as per the data from the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE).
- As per the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE) report, Haryana has the highest unemployment rate in March 2022, at 26.7%. followed by Rajasthan (25%) and Jammu and Kashmir (25 %), Bihar (14.4%), Tripura (14.1%) and West Bengal (5.6%).
- Karnataka and Gujarat states have registered the least unemployment rate at 1.8.% each in March 2022.
- In April 2021, India’s overall unemployment rate was 7.97% and raised to 11.84% in May last year.
