Eligibility
To be eligible for the JNVST:
- You must be an Indian Citizen.
- You must have been born between May 1, 2011 and April 30, 2013 for Class VI admission, and between May 1, 2007 and April 30, 2009 for Class IX admission.
- You must have studied in Class V or Class VIII in a government or government-aided school in a rural area during the previous academic year.
- A family’s annual income must be below Rs. 3.5 lakhs.
Selection Process
Students will be selected based on their performance in the JNVST and their reservation category for admission to JNVs. Each JNV will include a certain number of seats reserved for different categories of students, such as Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), Other Backward Classes (OBCs), and general category.

Exam Pattern
The JNVST will be held for two hours with 100 objective-type questions. The exam is divided into three sections:
- Mental Ability Test (40 questions)
- Language Test (30 questions)
- Mathematics Test (30 questions)
Reservation
- Scheduled Castes (SCs): 15%
- Scheduled Tribes (STs): 7.5%
- Other Backward Classes (OBCs): 27%
- General category: 50.5%

- Parent’s signature: A digital signature of the parent in JPG/JPEG format, with a file size between 10 to 100 KB.
- Aadhaar details/Residence certificate: Aadhaar card or a residence certificate issued by a competent Government authority in JPG/JPEG format, with a file size between 10 to 100 KB.

- Click on the “New User Registration” option.
