Every year, National Corn Chip Day is observed on January 29. Corn chips are treasured by different races and ages people. Corn chips are crispy, crunchy, and made out of cornmeal. These chips can be extremely spiced with salt flavor.
History and Significance
In 1945, Doolin and Herman Lay (of Lay’s potato chips) signed an agreement to distribute Doolin’s Fritos across the country. By the 1950s, Fritos was a bestseller of corn chips across the United States. The two companies (Frito and Lay) were included in 1959, after Doolin’s death, and called Frito-Lay.
