- It is believed that Louis Dufour invented Chocolate truffles in Chambray, in 1895. He made some ganache into a ball and dipped it into melted chocolate.
- In 1902, his relative, Antoine Dufour, brought the recipe to England and started a shop named Prestat Chocolate Shop.
