Every year, Paget’s Awareness Day is observed on January 11. The day is all about educating people on the effects of this bone disease. Paget’s Disease can make bones deformed or fractured over an extended period. The most common areas affected by Paget’s can be the spine, skull, pelvis, and femur.
In 2019, The first Paget’s Awareness Day took place on January 11. The day also marks the birth anniversary of Sir Paget. On this day, Paget’s Association and its community encourage people by wearing blue to inform people about this painful ailment.

History
The disease of the bone was discovered by English Baronet Sir James Paget. In 1877, he released his first paper on the affliction and stated his suspicion that the symptoms of the disease result from an inflammatory reaction occurring in the bone tissues.
In 1973, Ann Stansfield formed the Paget’s Association to fund research so that her husband, Alf could get better treatment for his diagnosis.
