Rajasthan Govt Announces 19 New Districts, 3 New Divisions in State – Rajasthan Government has given its approval to form 19 new districts and 3 new divisions. the decision aims to improve governance and decentralize administrative functions. As of now, Rajasthan has a total of 50 districts and 10 divisions after the inauguration of 19 new districts and 3 new divisions in the state.

Background
A high-level committee headed by retired IAS officer Ram Lubhaya was formed in March 2022 to offer recommendations regarding the formation of new districts in Rajasthan.
On March 17th, The committee prepared and submitted its report and the report suggested to make the formation of 19 new districts in the state.

New Districts and Divisions
The list of new districts has Apoongarh, Balotra, Beawar, Deeg, Didwana-Kuchaman, Dudu, Gangapur City, Kotputli-Behror, Khairthal-Tijara, Neem Ka Thana, Phalodi, Slumber, Sanchore and Shahpura.
The state will now have 10 divisions with the addition of Banswara, Pali, and Sikar after adding 3 New Divisions in the state.
