Every year, RNLI SOS Day takes place on January 29. As we all know the Royal National Lifeboat Institute (R.N.L.I.) is a charity that delivers 24/7 lifesaving and search services around the U.K. and Ireland. It aims to save and help anyone who has got into a crisis with any body of water.
History and Significance
In 1824, The R.N.L.I. started aimed at focusing the goal and philosophy to “provide our lifesaving service using volunteers wherever possible, with voluntary donations using the funds needed to do so.” The R.N.L.I. gives lifeboats, coastal safety, flood response, and research and educational plans and programs.
