Socialist Ramkishan becomes the Man of the Century

Socialist Ramkishan becomes the Man of the Century – Former Lok Sabha MP Pandit Ramkishan was honoured with the title of Shatabdi Purush (Man of the Century) in New Delhi. The appreciation letter was sent on the birth centenary celebrations of socialist ideologue and ace parliamentarian Madhu Limaye. the letter said, “Ramkishan is the senior-most socialist icon of the country and is adjudged as Socialist Shatabdi Purush”.

  • Ramkishan fighter for tribals, Dalits and the poor.
  • He also mobilised farmers and farm labourers in Rajasthan’s Bharatpur-Banswara region during 1958-60 at the request of socialist icon Dr Ram Manohar Lohia.
  • He was elected once to the Lok Sabha – in 1977 – and four times to Rajasthan Assembly – in 1962, 1967, 1974 and 1990.
