India’s first biomass-based hydrogen plant to come up at Madhya Pradesh
The first commercial-scale biomass-based hydrogen plant in the country will be installed in the Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh. the plant will produce one tonne of hydrogen from 30 tonnes of biomass feedstock.
- Watomo Energies Ltd and Biezel Green Energy are building this plant with an investment of Rs 24 crore.
- The technology for a ‘thermally accelerated anerobic digestion (TAD) reactor’. it produces hydrogen, methane and biochar from biomass.

Sanjay Malhotra as DFS Secretary in Finance Ministry
Sanjay Malhotra has been appointed as Secretary in the Department of Financial Services in the Ministry of Finance. he will replace Debashish Panda, who completed his term as DFS Secretary on January 31st, 2022.
- Sanjay Malhotra is a 1990 batch IAS officer of the Rajasthan cadre and has served as Chairman and Managing Director of REC Ltd.
- In other appointments, lAS officer Alkesh Kumar Sharma has been appointed as Secretary (Coordination), Cabinet Secretariat.
- lAS officer Manoj Ahuja has been appointed as OSD, Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has been appointed as the brand ambassador of Uttarakhand. the chief minister of the state Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced Akshay Kumar’s appointment as Brand Ambassador of The Hill State after meeting at his residence in Dehradun.
- Akshay Kumar was appointed as Uttarakhand’s brand ambassador for ‘Swachhata Abhiyan’ in 2017.
- In December 2021, cricketer Rishabh Pant was also appointed as Uttarakhand’s brand ambassador.
