IICA and NALSAR launch programs on “LL.M in Unsettled and Bankruptcy Laws.”

The Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) launched a new program in New Delhi, LL.M in “Insolvency and Bankruptcy Laws” in association with NALSAR Law University, Hyderabad.

• “Insolvency and Bankruptcy Laws” program aims to produce “Excellent academicians, Scientific professionals, and Researchers” at IBC through this program.

Action plan to reduce Haryana’s 14 billion cubic meter water deficit by 49% in 2 yrs

Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar said that the biennial Integrated Water Resources Action Plan (IWRAP) 2023-25 purpose is to reduce the state’s water deficit by 49.7% in a period of two years.

• Integrated Water Resources Action Plan (IWRAP) 2023-25 aims to save a total of 22% water in the first year and 27.7% water in the second year.
•  CM Khattar launched the biennial IWRAP 2023-25. The state’s total water demand goes up to about 34.96 billion cubic meters per year (about 34 lakh crore liters).

India, France, and UAE Begin Joint Maritime Exercise in the Gulf of Oman

The navies of India, France, and the United Arab Emirates participated in a two-day mega wargame in the Gulf of Oman, reflecting their growing cooperation to deal with challenges in the maritime sphere. It was the 1st edition of the wargame involving the navies of the three countries.

• Indian Naval ship INS Tarkash, French ship Surcouf, French Rafale aircraft, and the UAE Navy’s maritime patrol aircraft joined the exercise.
•  The exercise aims to involve tactical firing and drills for missile engagements on surface targets, helicopter cross-deck landing operations, advanced air defense exercises, and boarding operations.

District Good Governance Index (DGGI) of Arunachal Pradesh

The DARPG and Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh, with Knowledge Partner CGG, Hyderabad, jointly released the first District Good Governance Index of Arunachal Pradesh. The index features governance in all 25 districts of Arunachal Pradesh on 136 data points under 65 indicators spread across 8 sectors.

IGI Airport introduces the DigiYatra facility at T-3 without downloading the app

Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) announced that a new facility DigiYatra was introduced to make travel easier. DigiYatra will allow passengers to enjoy the benefits without having to download the mobile application. DigiYatra initiative was launched at Terminal 3, and it will help in facilitating the registration process for the passengers in three steps.

• DigiYatra was launched on December 1, 2022.
•  DigiYatra is an initiative that utilizes facial recognition technology to make terminal entry & security clearance at the airport a seamless, hassle-free, and paperless process.
•  The platform utilizes facial recognition technology to verify the identity of flyers.

Coimbatore ranks first among 231 districts in FSSAI’s ‘Eat Right Challenge – Phase II.’

The Coimbatore district has topped among 231 districts in the ‘Eat Right Challenge – Phase II’ organized by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). The district received 196 points out of 200 in the rating, which was held from May 2022 to November 15, 2022.

• Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya unveiled the 5th State Food Safety Index 2022-23 as part of observing World Food Safety Day.
•  In the index, Tamil Nadu was ranked third among the larger states, with the first and second positions received by Kerala and Punjab.

Indian Council of Agricultural Research signs an MOU with Amazon Kisan to Empower Farmers.

Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi, and Amazon Kisan signed an MoU to combine strengths and create synergy between the two organizations for guiding the farmers on the scientific cultivation of different crops for optimum yield and income. As per the MoU, ICAR aims to offer technological backstopping to the farmers through Amazon’s network.

IICA and RRU sign MoU for academic and research collaboration

Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) and Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) signed A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to synergize the professional capabilities of IICA and RRU towards capacity building, education, research and consulting in the domain of Internal Security, Financial Crimes, Law Enforcement, Corporate Frauds, and other subject matters common to their mandate and objectives.

RBI permits banks to issue RuPay prepaid forex cards

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) decided to permit banks to issue RuPay Prepaid Forex cards to customers and to issue such cards abroad. RBI is looking to broaden the scope of RuPay cards as part of its strategy of internationalizing the issuance and acceptance of such cards.

• RuPay cards will be allowed for issuance in foreign jurisdictions. And will help in expanding the reach and acceptance of RuPay cards globally,”

Fossils of Earth’s “Ancient Waterways” that lived about 1.6 billion years ago were discovered fossilized in oceanic rocks off the northern coast of Australia.
