NTCA Constitutes “Cheetah Project Steering Committee” to Oversee Cheetah Project
National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) created an 11-member Cheetah Project Steering Committee under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. Secretary General of Global Tiger Forum Shri Rajesh Gopal has been appointed as its chairman. The decision of establishing the 11-member Cheetah Project Steering Committee was taken after six cheetahs, who were brought as part of the translocation project, died in the last two months.
PM Modi chairs 8th governing council meeting of Niti Aayog
Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the eighth governing council meeting of Niti Aayog. The meeting’s theme was ‘Viksit Bharat @2047: Role of Team India’, which was held at the new Convention Centre in Delhi’s Pragati Maidan. PM discussed issues related to health, skill development, women empowerment and infrastructure development, with the aim of making India a developed nation by 2047.

An 800-year-old “trader’s inscription” was found in a field in the Andar Kottaram area near Papakkudi, Madurai in Tamil Nadu. The regional citizens call this stone “Muniyan Stone”. Japan Tamil Sangam and Tamil Nadu signed pact to help kids learn Tamil
The Japan Tamil Sangam and another association for non-resident Tamils living in the country signed a memorandum of understanding with the Tamil Nadu government, aimed at helping Tamil children in Japan to learn their mother tongue through Tamil Virtual Academy.

Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries, has been elected as a member of the Advisory Committee to the President of the 28th Session of the Conference of the Parties (COP28) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). Mukesh Ambani becomes the only Indian, other than Sunita Narain, Director General, Centre for Science and Environment, on the Advisory Committee to the President of COP28.

Five judges have been elevated as chief justices of high courts with one of them due to retire on May 30. As per the notification issued by the Department of Justice in the Union Law Ministry, the appointment of acting chief justice of the Bombay High Court Justice Sanjay Vijaykumar Gangapurwala as the chief justice of the Madras High Court and Justice Ramesh Deokinandan Dhanuka as the chief justice of the Bombay High Court.
