74th Death Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Rajghat in New Delhi and has and has paied homage to Mahatama Gandhi on his 74th death anniversary.
- It is also known as Martyrs’ Day, or ‘Shaheed Divas’, to mark the death anniversary of Nation Father Mahatma Gandhi.
- In 1948, Nathuram Godse assassinated Mahatma Gandhi (Bapu) in the Birla House on 30th January.

LIC Chairman M R Kumar gets an extension for one year till March 2023
The Centre has announced to extend the tenure of M R Kumar, the Chairman of IPO-bound Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) by one year, till March 2023.
- It is his 2nd extension for Mr Kumar.
- Prior to this, Govt gave a nine-month extension to Mr Kumar from June 30, 2021, till March 13, 2022.
- M.R. Kumar assumed the charge as Chairman of LIC on March 14, 2019.
