Ujjain makes Guinness record by lighting over 11.7 lakh oil lamps on Mahashivratri
Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh has created a new Guinness world record of ‘largest display of oil lamps’ by lighting more than 11.71 lakh lamps on the occasion of Mahashivratri. Ujjain is also known as the ‘Land of Mahakal’.
- Prior to this, Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh created a record of lighting 9.41 lakh diyas on 03 November 2021.
- The certificate has been received by Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
Smriti Irani launches “Stree Manoraksha Project”
Union Minister for Women and Child Development, Smt. Smriti Zubin Irani has launched the ‘Stree Manoraksha Project’ on day 2 of the week-long International Women’s Day week celebrations on March 02, 2022.
- The Ministry of Women and Child Development is celebrating the International Women’s Day week from 1st March to 8th March 2022.

Life Insurance Corp. of India has decided to appoint Sunil Agrawal as a chief financial officer (CFO) of the Life Insurance Corporation (LIC), his appointment is on a contractual basis.
- Agrawal has served as CFO of Reliance Nippon Life Insurance Co Ltd. until 2018
- Agrawal will help LIC to engage with investors and new shareholders as it prepares for the IPO with the help of his experience.

LIC Mutual Fund appoints TS Ramakrishnan as MD and CEO
LIC Mutual Fund has appointed TS Ramakrishnan as the managing director and chief executive officer (MD & CEO) of LIC Mutual Fund with effect from March 01, 2022.
- TS Ramakrishnan replaces Dinesh Pangtey.
- Ramakrishnan has served as the Regional Manager-Western Region at LIC Housing Finance Ltd (LICHFL) and subsequently transferred to General Manager LICHFL. He has served across four zones of LIC, including a stint at ZTC Bhopal as Vice Principal.
- He also served in various positions including, those of regional manager pension group and Scheme in the South Central Zone (Hyderabad) and senior division manager in charge at Delhi 1 & 2.

Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) has released its 6th Edition of ‘Sustainable Development Report 2021 (SDR 2021). India has been ranked at the 120th position with a score of 60.1 out of 165 countries.
- In the Index, Finland topped the Index followed by Sweden, Denmark, Germany and Belgium have been ranked at 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th place respectively.

India’s Shri Nivetha, Esha Singh and Ruchita Vinerkar have won the gold medal in the women’s 10m air pistol team event of the ISSF World Cup on March 02, 2022. the ISSF World Cup 2022 is being held in Cairo, Egypt.
- Indian players shot 16 in the gold medal contest to finish on the podium for the country’s third medal, and second gold, in the year’s first World Cup.
- India has received three medals — two gold and silver.

A well-known film critic in the entertainment industry Jai Prakash Chouksey has passed away at the age of 83 due to cardiac arrest at his home in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore city.
