Vivek Johri as the new chairman of CBIC
The govt of India has appointed senior bureaucrat Vivek Johri as the Chairman of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC).
- Vivek Johri is serving as a member of the CBIC, handling GST and tax policy, and will take place of M Ajit Kumar whose tenure is about to complete on November 30, 2021.

- Vivek is a 1985-batch Indian Revenue Service (Customs and Indirect Taxes) officer.
