Every year, World Anthropology Day is a holiday and is observed on the third Thursday of February. It takes place on February 15 this year. The day aims to celebrate the field and share information about anthropology with people. Anthropology covers human behavior, biology, and how human societies function. It also describes the origins of humans and what makes us unique as a species.
History
In 2015, The American Anthropological Association (A.A.A.) started World Anthropology Day. In the beginning, the day was known as National Anthropology Day, but it was changed in 2016.
