World Tennis Day is observed every year on the first Monday of March. In 2024, it will take place on March 4. The day began as a handball game, known as “jeu de paume” (“game of the palm”), and has become one of the most popular sports in the world. The day is about to learn about this interesting sport. In 2013, The holiday was launched by StarGames to encourage sports participation.
History
“Game of the palm” was a popular sport that the French played, and it laid the foundation for “real tennis” (as it was known in Britain). Louis X of France was known as one of the major pioneers of the sport.
